I bought over a kilogramme of pork yesterday at the Lido market. The price was RM27 and I was quite pleased with the pricing knowing that some other places charges RM40 per kilogramme of pork. So it was a saving for me. Anyway, I wasn’t thinking much about what I would do with it. My only thought then was how many dishes I could cook before the next buy. I was in survival thinking mode.
Night came, and after I finished writing all my reports, I decided that perhaps I could cook pork porridge (since my daughter just had some work done at the dentist two days earlier) and just cut several slices of the meat, fry them in hot oil in the wok and that would be dinner.
The pork porridge came out just as it was meant to, but I decided to do extra work on my fried pork. The result was quite satisfying, as the kids wiped the plates dry. One thing about compliments is that it doesn’t matter what words come out from people’s mouth — if they cannot finish what is served, it means they don’t like it.
How to prepare the Pork in Barbeque Sauce?
I would suggest using 1/2 to 1 kilogramme of pork because if you use too little, you’d still be pining for more later.
- 1/2 to 1 kg of pork, minced finely.
- Bread crumbs
- black pepper sauce
- tomato paste
- oyster sauce
- corn flour
How to cook?
First of all, mix items 1,2, 3, 4, 7 and 8 together and let everything soak in together for 30 minutes. Boil cooking oil in the work, make sure you can submerge the meat to avoid burning it.
Shape the meat into round balls and put them into the hot oil. Wait until they turn golden or brownish but not burnt (although I enjoy the burnt part more).
Next, if get a pot and put in items 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the pot. Mix with 250ml of water. Keep stirring to mix all the ingredients together.
Then put in all the fried meatballs in the sauce and let it boil for 10 minutes to 20 minutes. Add a bit of water if you see the sauce drying. Make sure it doesn’t dry up.
P.s.: I wasn’t able to take any photos of this yesterday as my hp died and I was too hungry to care. Anyway, I will again prepare the same tonight and will post the pictures here.
